A week of awareness for all of these illnesses means so many things. It means workplace awareness and understanding. It means our doctors will know that it isn't "all in our head." It means that our family and friends get to learn from other support systems different ways to support and love someone through a chronic illness. It means that we feel less alone in this fight. And that is everything.
I saw a picture going around in support of Invisible Illness Awareness week that said, "Why do I post about Invisible Illness? Because is just one person feels less alone, it gives my pain purpose." There is nothing more true than this! Some days are long, exhausting, and so painful. But all of those days are worth it, if I talk about it and it helps someone else be FINALLY diagnosed or finally feel hope.
Invisible Illness Awareness Week is important because it brings hope, support, and most importantly awareness to illnesses that not many people know about. What an incredible week!
